Uttar Pradesh: Two buses crash on the Yamuna Expressway, injuring forty people

On Monday, January 15, at least 40 people were hurt in an early-morning accident involving two buses on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, according to authorities. The tragedy happened at MileStone 110 Raya cut near Mathura on the Yamuna Expressway at approximately three in the morning. The wounded were then taken to the hospital.

How did the mishap come about?
Officials said that the accident happened on the highway from Agra to Noida, with one bus traveling from Dholpur to Noida and the other from Etawah. Thirty-one passengers were taken to the district hospital shortly after the accident, while nine more were admitted to other hospitals. Notably, North India is experiencing very low temperatures, with fog covering the area for the majority of the day and night. This reduces visibility and raises the possibility of such mishaps.

What was said by the police?
“One bus that was involved in the accident was traveling from Dholpur to Noida, while the other bus was traveling from Etawah to Noida,” said Mathura SSP Shailesh Pandey. On the Yamuna Expressway, nevertheless, an accident involved both of these buses.

Every passenger who was hurt is receiving medical attention.
