Watch: When a train coach breaks down in Amethi, Indian railway workers push it

Social media has often featured news articles and videos regarding train accidents from all throughout the nation. Most recently, a train carriage that has broken down is being struggled with by several railway workers in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The nearby individuals recorded the footage and uploaded it on social media. It is said that the train’s abrupt halt at the edge affected the timetable of subsequent trains. Staff pushed the train because, in spite of their best efforts, they could not remedy the situation.

Following a technical glitch in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, many railway personnel were seen in the video physically pulling a coach from the main track to the loop track. The footage shows a large number of staff members pushing the bus to the station by pressing along one side of it and sinking their legs into the coarse gravel that surrounds the rails. Reports state that the incident happened in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, when normal trains experienced delays due to a DPC coach breaking down on the main track close to the Nihalgarh Railway Station. DPC coaches are mostly utilized by railway authorities for inspection.

Inspector RS Sharma of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) provided additional details about the incident, stating that “on Thursday, a DPC train that is used by railway officials for inspection broke down at the outer end of Nihalgarh Railway Station. As a result, railway employees were deployed to push it to the station.” After the issue was fixed, the train continued on to its destination, as stated by India Today.

Additionally, it is said that officials have been asked to carry out a thorough investigation and take the required actions to guarantee the effective and safe functioning of the region’s railways. The catastrophe highlights the need of stringent safety guidelines and upkeep specifications in the railroad sector.

A malfunctioning signal at the Jahangirabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh caused two railway personnel to be murdered and another critically wounded in December of last year when they were struck by an approaching train. The Cochin Express and the Barauni Express arrived on both the up and down tracks as the three employees were fixing a problem with one of the signal poles, according to the police. That was the Cochin Express striking them. One of them passed away instantly, while the other subsequently passed away from his wounds. The third employee was sent to the medical facility.
