Kapurthala Admn performs the first EVM randomization

The district administration performed the first randomization of voting machines here at the District Administrative Complex today in the presence of political party members in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, which are planned for June 1.

Details were provided by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Amit Kumar Panchal, who said that the initial randomization of voting machines was carried out in accordance with the ECI’s timetable and guidelines. According to Panchal, EMS software was used for the procedure, and a list of voting devices was sent to political parties.

The Deputy Commissioner said that voting machines would be distributed to assistant returning officers on May 7 in front of political party officials. The sorting of EVMs will begin with the assembly on May 3rd, section by segment. The DAC warehouse will continue to be open starting at 9 a.m. on May 3.

The Phagwara MC joint commissioner-cum-nodal officer, in the presence of political party leaders, will open the warehouse, which was scheduled to close at six o’clock every day, according to the Deputy Commissioner.

The DC went on to say that the district administration was completely committed to ensuring that the Lok Sabha elections were held in a free, fair, and peaceful manner and that all necessary preparations had been made.

For this reason, Panchal said that on May 5, poll workers would get their first training. In the Hoshiarpur parliamentary constituency, the polling workers will report at Guru Nanak Prem Karamsar College, Nadala, and Guru Nanak College, Sukhchainana Sahib, for the assembly segments of Bholath and Phagwara, respectively.

The personnel for Sultanpur Lodhi-28 will get training at Akal Academy School, while the workers for Kapurthala segment-27 will receive it in the local Virsa Vihar auditorium for the Khadoor Sahib parliamentary constituency.

The nomination period would run from May 7 to May 14. The results will be announced on June 4 after the voting takes place on June 1.

ADC (General) Shikha Bhagat, Phagwara MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh, Election Tehsildar Manjit Kaur, and political representatives from Shiromani Akali Dal, Harbans Singh Walia, Ranjit Singh, and Ajay Babla, Aam Aadmi Party members Gurpal Singh Indian, Amrik Singh, and Ravi Sharma, Congress member Jatin Sharma, BJP member Anil Kumar, Bahujan Samaj Party members Harinder Kumar Sheetal, Surjit Singh, and Mukhtar Singh, and LPI member KL Kaushal were among those in attendance on the occasion.
