Bihar: A family’s seven members burn to death after their hut catches fire

Bihar: In the Rohtas district of Bihar, a family’s hut caught fire on Tuesday, killing at least seven people, including five children, according to authorities.
According to an official, the event happened on Tuesday afternoon in Ibrahimpur village, in the district headquarters of Sasaram’s Nasriganj subdivision.

Pushpa Devi (30), her two children Gudiya (2) and Kajal Kumari (4), and her son Bajrangi Kumar (6) were all recognized by the police as the dead.

According to the police, Pushpa’s relatives, Kanti Kumari (6), Shivani (3), and Maya Devi (25), were also slain.

Raju Devi, another lady, has been brought to a government hospital after suffering burn injuries.

“The incident took place around 3 pm on Tuesday,” Bikramganj Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anil Basak said in an interview with the media. The cottage caught fire while all of the victims were inside. As soon as they received the information, the relevant officials and a rescue crew arrived at the location. It’s still unclear what specifically started the fire.”

Additionally, he said that the subject was being looked into and that remains had been submitted for post-mortem testing.

He also said that the government will see to it that the deceased’s family members receive fair recompense.

The villagers told the authorities that the fire originated from a short circuit in an electric transformer next to the cabin.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, offered his sincere condolences for the unfortunate event.

“The CM has expressed his deep sorrow over the deaths of several people in the tragic incident,” said a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office. My sincere sympathies to their family.
