Targeting Tejashwi Yadav, Pappu Yadav submits a candidature for the Purnea Lok Sabha seat

In an effort to dispel hate speech, former MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, attacked Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD), on Thursday before he filed his candidature for the Purnea Lok Sabha seat. Yadav submitted his candidature from the Purnea Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, even though Bima Bharti, an ally of the RJD, had filed her nomination papers.

What about Purnea? People have been wondering for the last 14 days. But what about Yada Pappu? I’ve won people over, and I’ll also get blessings. Ahead of his anticipated nomination filing for the Purnea seat, he said, “I said the same thing to Lalu Yadav with folded hands.”

Purnea has never let me down and has stood by me; leaving this area would be suicidal for me, Yadav said. He also promised to work for the daughters of Lalu Yadav and to fortify the I.N.D.I.A. bloc.

“I’ll urge Tejashwi Yadav to give up his hateful politics. I always look forward to Lalu Yadav’s blessings,” he said.

The RJD leader called and told me to run from Madhepura, but I countered that if I could run under the RJD symbol, I would only run from Purnea and that the RJD could move Bima Bharti to Madhepura, Yadav recalled.

He had earlier said, “Tomorrow, everyone, please come to give your blessings during the filing of nominations,” in a post on X. Pappu Yadav is going to fight for Purnea’s honour. Some individuals will stop at nothing to offend Purnea because they are so enraged with her. On April 26 (election day), my mother Purnea will retaliate by requiring them to forfeit their deposits.”

As Bharti filed her candidature papers, Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar and presumed successor to Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad, accompanied her. Bharti joined the RJD less than a month ago.

At a rally in Purnea, Tejashwi Yadav also encouraged supporters to support Bharti, a current MLA and former minister who just left the JD (U), which is led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

With the claim of “assurances” from Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Pappu Yadav has been announcing that he would run from the seat he had won three times in the 1990s.
