The Mahindra Thar is a well-known SUV on the Indian market, and as we previously reported, Mahindra is preparing to release a 5-door version of the well-liked off-roader. The 5-door Thar has few known specifications, but it has lately been sighted testing, which has provided important information about the inside of the vehicle. In Mahindra’s lineup of cars, the 5-door Thar will be positioned above the 3-door Thar.
5-Door Thar – Interiors
The updated interior of the 5-Door Thar will feature
New steering wheel borrowed from the Mahindra XUV700.
Addition of a grab handle on the A-pillar.
Height-adjustable seatbelt.
Redesigned front armrest.
Cupholders located behind the gear lever.
Larger touchscreen panel with new buttons.
Inclusion of a USB-C charging port.
Possibility of different upholstery color options.
Proper second row of seats accommodating three adults.
Increased boot space for improved practicality.
Design for a 5-Door Thar
The 5-Door Thar will also get various external design improvements, including a new grille, new LED headlights, modest rear bumper adjustments, new alloy wheel choices, and maybe a hardtop roof. It could also have a single-pane sunroof, which sets it apart from the 3-door model’s convertible soft top.
Engine 5-Door Thar
The 2.0-liter petrol engine in the 5-Door Thar has 150 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.2-liter diesel engine has 130 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. It is anticipated that both engines will be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.
The 5-Door Mahindra Thar is expected to be priced competitively between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, putting it up against a number of competitors including the Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, MG Hector, and Skoda Kushaq. The manufacturer has not yet announced the debut date, although it is anticipated to happen in India next year.
