Check Out the Features of China’s BYD’s First Supercar, the Yangwang U9

The Yangwang U9 is the world’s first battery-operated supercar, and it was released by BYD Auto, the biggest EV manufacturer in the world.

The vehicle, which retails for 1.68 million yuan (about Rs 2 crore), was introduced under the premium sub-brand of the China-based firm.

The BYD Yangwang U9 is expected to provide fierce competition to certain high-end models made by the Italian automakers Ferrari and Lamborghini when it debuts on the market.

The creator, chairman, and CEO of BYD Auto, Wang Chuanfu, described the Yamwang U19 as a “leader in our automobile segment” during his speech at the launch ceremony. According to HT Auto, he said, “It will provide our customers a driving experience that is full of safety, excellent performance, and maximum satisfaction.”

With its state-of-the-art technologies, the BYD Yangwang U9 provides excellent on-road performance. Even though it is an all-electric car, its maximum speed will be 309.19 kmph. The 12-cylinder engine that powers the Yangwang U9 has up to four eclectic motors.

With a maximum power output of 240 kW for each of these motors, the powertrain can provide a combined peak power of 960 kW. The Yangwang U9’s high-power engine allows it to accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 2.36 seconds.

The Yangwang U9’s first testing, according to the Shenzhen-based EV manufacturer, was conducted within a thermal management system, which will enable the vehicle to function at its peak even in hot conditions. The EV supercar is equipped with BYD’s exclusive Blade Battery technology, which allows for ultra-fast charging up to 500 kW in addition to aiding in quicker engine cooling.

Additionally, the Yangwang U9 has a dual charging capability. The battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in only 10 minutes thanks to its two charging outlets. With only one charge, the four-wheeler can go up to 450 kilometers.

Regarding the Yangwang U9’s appearance and design, it has a futuristic look. It is a two-seater with an angular profile that includes a big front grille and simple LED headlights. Prior to releasing the vehicle in foreign nations, BYD Auto will first make it available in the domestic market.
