Elon Musk’s business sets a date for when Twitter users must be verified in order to utilise TweetDeck

The social media behemoth Twitter said on Tuesday that users of TweetDeck would soon need to be verified. In 30 days, the corporation claimed, the modification will go into effect.

Users of TweetDeck in particular were having trouble loading whole columns and receiving alerts at the time the news was made. Shortly after Twitter CEO Elon Musk restricted the quantity of tweets users may view each day, a problem arose. Musk first set daily reading limits for authenticated users at 6,000 posts and unverified users at 600 posts. He extended these restrictions to 10,000 and 1,000 tweets, respectively, in the following hours.

The most recent news was revealed by Twitter in a tweet that described an updated TweetDeck version with additional capabilities. According to news agency Reuters, it was unclear if Twitter will charge users for both the new and old versions of TweetDeck.

“We just released an updated version of TweetDeck. By choosing “Try the new TweetDeck” from the bottom left menu on https://tweetdeck.twitter.com, all users may continue to access their stored searches and workflows, the firm said.

“To the new TweetDeck, all of your stored searches, lists, and columns will transfer. Whenever you use the programme for the first time, you will be requested to import your columns. Full composer capabilities, Spaces, video docking, polls, and other features are now supported by TweetDeck. The TweetDeck teams feature is currently offline but will be back up soon. Users must be verified within 30 days in order to use TweetDeck, it continued.

A financial boost for Twitter, which has struggled to maintain advertising income under the control of billionaire Elon Musk, might result from charging for TweetDeck, which was previously free and is extensively used by companies and news organisations to efficiently monitor content.

Musk’s plan to restrict tweet reading was met with a ferocious outcry from Twitter users, and advertising experts said it would harm the company’s newly appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino, who took over the position last month. In India, individuals must pay 650 rupees each month to verify their accounts, while businesses must pay at least 82,300 rupees each month (before taxes).
