India’s E-commerce Exports are Growing and Are Expected to Reach USD 8 Billion, According to Amazon’s Exports Digest 2023

According to Amazon, Indian exporters’ total international sales via the e-commerce exports program Amazon Global Selling are expected to reach USD 8 billion in 2023.

According to Amazon’s shipments Digest 2023, the program’s shipments from India totaled USD 5 billion in the previous year.

“Cumulative exports by Indian exporters on its e-commerce exports programme Amazon Global Selling are on track to surpass USD 8 billion in 2023,” the research said.

According to the research, since its introduction in 2015, Amazon Global Selling has expanded to include 1.25 lakh exporters, with roughly 1,200 of the platform’s Indian exporters surpassing Rs 1 million in sales in 2017.

The greatest exports were in the toy (at 50%), home and kitchen (at 35%), and beauty items (at 25%) categories, while clothes, grocery, and sports and health equipment were some of the developing product categories.

“Adding a special chapter on e-commerce exports to the FTP’23 would spur export development and open up new opportunities for thousands of small enterprises all throughout India. To allow USD 20 billion in total e-commerce exports from India by 2025, we will continue engaging with all stakeholders including lakhs of small enterprises and startups, said Bhupen Wakankar, director of global trade at Amazon India.

According to the research, over 266 million’made in India’ items are shipped under the program to international clients in the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Spain, France, and Italian markets.

According to the survey, Delhi was the top exporting state on the platform in 2023, followed by Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
