Over $500 million will be spent by Tesla to expand the Supercharger network

May 10, New Delhi In order to build thousands of additional chargers by 2024, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Friday that the business would be spending more than $500 million on its Supercharger network.

“Tesla will spend well over $500 million expanding our Supercharger network to create thousands of new chargers this year,” Musk said in an article on X.

Furthermore, he added that the money does not cover substantially greater operating expenses; rather, it primarily covers additional locations and expansions.

The tech mogul said, “That’s just on new sites and expansions, not counting operations costs, which are much higher.”

This comes after Tesla sent an email to its Australian customers updating them on Supercharging amid mounting worries about the quality of service in the wake of layoffs.

Tesla emphasized in an email to Australian customers that all presently under construction sites “will be completed and put into operation” and that the “network will continue to be expanded,” according to eletric-vehicles.com.

The corporation let go of hundreds of workers on its charging team less than two weeks ago.

In the meantime, Musk has extended an invitation to billionaire investor Warren Buffett to visit and make investments in Tesla, which is struggling due to a worldwide decline in EV sales.

In response to a remark made by an X user suggesting that the owner of Berkshire Hathaway should sell all of his Apple stock and purchase Tesla instead, the owner of the electric vehicle firm said that this is an “obvious move” for him.

“Buffett ought to buy stock in Tesla. The X owner wrote, “It’s a clear move.
