Report: 41% of Indian gamers are female

Bengaluru: When it comes to gaming, it’s not a world only for men. A significant change in the gaming and e-sports scene is highlighted by the emergence of female producers and players in India. According to recent research by gaming fund Lumikai, women make up 41% of Indian gamers. Data from the 2,000 users it polled revealed a rise in the proportion of gamers from non-metropolitan areas.

The 23-year-old Payal Dhare, also known as PayalGaming, has 3.4 million YouTube followers. “With more female gamers continuing to assert their place in this dynamic industry, they will inspire budding gamers and create an inclusive and welcoming space for players of all backgrounds to thrive,” said Dhare.
