With its AI image editor that can do whatever you want, Apple is now challengng OpenAI and Google

With its AI model, which can modify information in a picture by only saying what you want to be changed, Apple is now prepared to take on expensive editing tools. We are all aware of the AI capabilities of DALL-E from OpenAI or Gemini, and Apple is about to provide customers with even more alternatives and challenges.

Apple has depended on academic institutions to develop the MGIE, or MLLM-Guided picture Editing, language model for picture editing. Simple photographs may be edited using the MGIE model, and you can even add a new shape or a different touch to make it appear brighter. The concept, developed by Apple in collaboration with the University of California, Santa Barbara, allows users to simply utilize text prompts to crop, resize, and apply filters to images. It’s intriguing how the business employs two language models: the first is used to teach the AI how to comprehend and interpret requests.

After the learning process is complete, the model begins to visualize the changes, which may only include minor changes. It is evident that Apple is developing a wide range of AI technologies, which we will likely see integrated into the iOS or iPadOS operating system for Apple devices in the near future.

Undoubtedly, Apple’s restricted dataset for generative AI applications makes it unmatchable against the OpenAI and Adobes of the world, but this will undoubtedly change sooner rather than later. Apple’s on-device processing, which keeps the AI game safe and private for users, has to be the company’s greatest difference in the AI space.

It’s amazing to see AI take off in such a large manner. The industrial transformation is probably going to peak around 2024, and Apple will undoubtedly be involved.
