Aamir Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali at the Nitin Desai Funeral Last rites are offered

On August 2, Nitin Chandrakant Desai, better known by his stage name Nitin Desai, went away. At his Karjat studio, he was discovered hanged. His funeral ceremonies were conducted in his studio on August 4. Nitin served as the movie’ art director. There was one called “Lagaan.” Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker paid their tributes during the burial. Among others, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sonali Kulkarni attended the burial of the brilliant person.

In the company of his loved ones, friends, and coworkers, Nitin was put to rest. His children may be seen crying in one of the videos and pictures that have gone viral.

Desai’s work as an art director on films like “1942: A Love Story” helped him become well-known in the business. He has worked on the films “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,” “Devdas,” “Lagaan,” “Jodhaa Akbar,” “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo,” “Once Upon a Time in Mumbai,” “Dostana,” “Lage Raho Munna Bhai,” “Munnabhai MBBS,” and “Slumdog Millionaire,” among others.

Nitin Desai won the Filmfare Best Art Direction Award three times, as well as the National Film Award for Best Art Direction four times.

According to sources, he had staggering debts of more than Rs 250 crore and was experiencing a financial crisis. According to independent MLA Mahesh Baldi of Uran (Raigad), where Desai’s ‘ND Art World Pvt Ltd’ is based, Nitin had been experiencing financial difficulties for four to five years, which may have contributed to his suicide.

According to reports, he, his wife Naina, and their company borrowed Rs 150 crore in 2016 and another Rs 31 crore in 2018, for a total of Rs 181 crore.

Problems began to arise in 2019 as a result of inconsistencies in the principal repayments. The loan was classified as a non-performing asset in March 2021, and by June 2022, a total of Rs 252 crore was due on it.
