Actress Rachana Banerjee discusses her relationship with Locket Chatterjee and discusses her candidacy

No. 1 on Bengali TV: Didi Rachana Banerjee has entered the political sphere lately. Rachana, a well-known Bengali actress and presenter of the hit reality program Didi No. 1, will run in the next Lok Sabha 2024 election. The actress is expected to compete with Hooghly. Mamata Banerjee, the supremo of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the chief minister of West Bengal, revealed the complete slate of candidates for the Lok Sabha 2024 election on March 10 at the Brigade ground march.

Rachana will be competing against another Bengali actress for the Hooghly seat. Actress-turned-politician Locket Chatterjee is running for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the same seat.
For many years, Locket and Rachana have worked together in the entertainment sector. In the past, they have even shared screens. Rachana says that although Locket is her rival in the next election, she does not see her as an “enemy.” The actress claims that she and Locket have a long-standing friendship and a more amiable equation than that of coworkers. Rachana confesses that her only emotion for Locket is love. Rachana and Locket have collaborated on a number of movies, including “Chaoya Paoya,” “Tyaag,” and “Paribar.” Rachana said that they used to even share pickles at filming locations. The actress treasures the moments and experiences they have spent together.
Mamata Banerjee made an appearance on Rachana’s well-liked reality series Didi No. 1 a few weeks ago. On March 3, the special episode aired on television. Mamata was a special guest on that particular show. Rachana reportedly went to Nabanna personally to extend an invitation to the CM to attend her program. That was when the actress’s potential for joining politics first surfaced. Rachana, however, stated that she went to see “Didi” just to extend an invitation to the concert. She also told the reporters that the CM would make the announcement herself if a decision was reached on her entrance into politics. Rachana filmed the Didi No. 1 special episode with the CM in Dumurjala Stadium in Howrah, only a few days after they first met Didi at Nabanna. In the crowd were singers Aditi Munshi, who is affiliated with the political party, and Indranil Sen, who is also a TMC MLA.
