Adah Sharma responds to the controversial statement made against JNU in “Bastar”: “I may not say it in Adah’s voice, but..”

Following the success of ‘The Kerala Story’ and the recognition received for her portrayal, Adah Sharma’s next film is ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’. Once again, Adah plays IPS officer Neerja Mathur in this gritty movie.

She quotes a conversation from the trailer criticizing JNU and suggesting that liberals and so-called intellectuals need to be put to death. Many individuals are not fond of this and are referring to it as just another propaganda movie.
In response, Adah said, “When you play a tough cop like Neeraj Mathur in Bastar, I want people to think that I portrayed her in the strongest, most fearless, and most powerful way.” in an interview with News18. In the movie, I want every word I say to be believed. She is expressing her indignation at seeing the 76 Jawans murdered and hacked into bits when she claims that they were slaughtered and that she wants to shoot them down. Though I may not articulate it as well as Adah, Neerja would.”
Regarding the accusation that it is a propaganda movie, Adah is indifferent to public opinion. “Once viewers see the movie, they will comprehend its theme. However, as I said even during The Kerala Story, it’s a democracy; viewers have the freedom to decide whether or not to watch a movie and whether or not to leave a comment. Additionally, because it’s their decision, we have to respect those who are commenting without having seen the movie, the actress said.
Producer Vipul Shah and director Sudipto Sen, who previously helmed “The Kerala Story,” are behind “Bastar.”
