Adipurush Row: SC Stays High Court Proceedings Against Producers of Prabhas-Starrer

“Adipurush,” a film by Om Raut, was the subject of several disputes when it was released. The Supreme Court on Friday suspended legal actions against the producers of the movie “Adipurush,” a film based on the Hindu classic Ramayana, according to a recent update, as reported by ANI.

Director Om Raut, producer Bhushan Kumar, and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir were ordered to appear in court on July 27 by the Allahabad High Court on June 30. The Central Government was ordered by the court to form a five-member committee to assess whether the film had damaged the public’s sensibilities. Additionally, it had instructed the government to reconsider its decision to certify the film.

The High Court’s decision followed separate petitions filed by Kuldeep Tiwari and Naveen Dhawan calling for the film “Adipurush” to be banned.

After its premiere, the film, which was based on the venerable Hindu epic Ramayana, received harsh criticism. Prabhas plays Lord Ram in the movie, Kriti plays Goddess Sita, Sunny Singh plays Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana, the hydra-headed evil king from the mythology.

Box office results for Adipurush
Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon are the stars of “Adipurush,” which has gotten mixed (mainly unfavorable) reviews from reviewers. The storyline, special effects, and star-studded ensemble of this pricey film all contributed to its failure. With a projected budget of Rs 550 crore, “Adipurush” had a lot on the line. It had a good first weekend after its June 16 release. Between Hindi and the four south Indian languages, it brought in Rs 190 crore.
