Amit Trivedi Discusses Understanding Gen-Z’s Musical Taste

Amit Trivedi, a singer-composer who just released his new album “Songs of Trance 2,” has spoken on the musical tastes of Gen-Z and called them as “constantly surprising.”

Trivedi said of the music that the youthful crowd enjoys: “They have always surprised. They don’t like what I think they would enjoy. It’s really surprising and unpredictable what they enjoy. They constantly test you.

He remembered how the Gen-Z had astonished him by preferring the music of “Qala” over “Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat,” which he claims was made with the 18, 19, and 20-year-olds in mind.

“Of course, as I recall, we were working on ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ and ‘Qala’ simultaneously. “Qala” is music from the 1940s and 1950s. The show “Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat” was specifically written with Gen-Zers aged 18, 19, and 20 in mind. attendees at parties.

“And in the studio, we were like, ”Qala,” kaun sunega?,” he said. Who will like songs from the 1940s and 1950s. We believed that “Almost Pyaar DJ Mohabbat” was the thing, but instead, these Gen-Zers were creating reels for “Shauk” and “Ghode Par Sawaar” instead. Thus, they never cease to astonish you.

The focus of Trivedi’s most recent album is trance music with a twist. Six tracks overall, including Jhoome Nain, Puttha Paasa, Bairi Birha, Shariyat-E-Dil, Fursat, and Jhumme Raat, may be found on the musician’s indie label, Amit Trivedi Azaad.

The musician worked with a number of artists to create the album. How challenging or simple was it for him?

It’s both challenging and simple. Having worked in the business for so long, you are familiar with the singers and voices you like working with. They join the team. It is also simple in that sense. However, finding the appropriate voices may sometimes be difficult, according to Trivedi.

Trivedi explains why the genre of trance is so well-liked.

“Trance has a different goal. Loud music, gloomy lighting, and dark surroundings immerse you in the experience. It takes a person out of the actual world and into another one.
