Babil’s heartbreaking words to his late father on the anniversary of Irrfan Khan’s death: “He left before I could make him proud”

Irrfan Khan will always be remembered as one of the greatest actors in Indian movie history. Before leaving this world, he made a lasting impression on the entertainment industry. Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan is now making a splash in the spotlight thanks to his acting performances in films like “Qala”

and “The Railway Men.” Babil Khan has often spoken about how much he loves his father, how much his father’s advice has changed his life, and how much the seasoned actor has taught him.
Let’s remember the times when Babil spoke about his father, Irrfan Khan, as we approach the fourth anniversary of his loss.

“I wish I could have one last dance with you”
Babil Khan recalled the day he went on a boat ride over a snowy terrain with Irrfan Khan in February. He posted a photo of them standing on a boat, Babil looking out into the distance and Irrfan looking off to the side. Babil wrote, “Nobody has known me like he did, nobody has known him like I did,” expressing his emotions. It’s simple to express that you miss him. Weeping for his loss might be a therapeutic and simple thing to do. It’s simple. You know what’s difficult? To recall the joy in his voice as he would lift it in a triumphant cry, “BABILUUUU!!!” each and every time he saw me.

I could still feel the agony of being apart from him during his long, desolate periods of time spent shooting. The feeling of his beard on my fingertips when I used to scratch his face as he read his screenplay, or the way my finger tips would softly land on his eyelids when he slept, is too painful to endure.

His voice was very deep, but all it made me feel was a soft prayer, the kind of prayer that only comes from the inside when someone outside of you has brought your existential anxiety to peace. I hope we could dance one final time. I shall search for you, “And to tell you, that without your lessons, I never would have survived.” I’ll locate you once again. Somewhere. Beyond.

For Irrfan Khan, it meant the world to hold hands.

During an interview with MensXP, Babil Khan spoke back on his early years. He spoke of times on public trips when he would sometimes lose sight of his father in busy areas. Babil remembered how important it had been to him, even for a few while, to have his father grasp his hand.

He said it may be quite traumatic for a youngster when a bodyguard steps in and pulls his father away because of the swarming mob, forcing their hands to part. Babil clarified that even though he and his father were physically apart due to his hectic filming schedule, their relationship was always incredibly warm and caring.

“I don’t like to laugh anymore”
Babil Khan spoke about how Irrfan Khan’s passing had a significant impact on his character in an interview with Indian Express. “A laughter I have not felt since he passed away,” he said. I used to laugh uncontrollably; those days are gone. That is very peculiar. You never laugh the same once you lose someone you laugh with.
“He left before I could make him proud”

Babil Khan spoke with Pinkvilla about how much he missed his father Irrfan Khan and how he wished that he could see his advancement in both his personal and professional lives. “He left before he could see me grow,” Babil said. You know, he went before I could make him proud. I wish he could have been around to see my growth as a person—not just professionally.
