Box office receipts for Swatantra Veer Savarkar: Randeep Hooda film records its lowest take on Monday, earning just Rs 35 lakhs

Much praise has been showered upon Randeep Hooda for his dual performance as actor and director in Swatantra Veer Savarkar, where he plays Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. In spite of this, the movie hasn’t had the same impact on viewers as Article 370 and The Kerala Story. Still, during the weekend, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” consistently outperformed its stated budget of Rs 20 crore.

The movie opened the third weekend strong, earning Rs 2.85 crore after taking in Rs 11.35 crore in the first week and Rs 6.4 crore in the second. However, on Monday, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie fell by almost 70%, taking in Rs 35 lakh. The movie has already earned a total of Rs 20.95 crore.
Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which will have paid premieres starting tomorrow evening, will compete with Swatantra Veer Savarkar. On April 11, Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be released on a large number of screens. In addition to Randeep, Ankita Lokhande, Rajesh Khera, and Amit Sial play significant roles in the movie.
