Day 2 box office results for 72 Hoorain: Ashoke Pandit’s movie bombs and fails to bring in even one crore rupees

The movie 72 Hoorain, starring Sanjay Puran Singh and Ashoke Pandit, was scrutinised before it came out for a number of reasons. Even on Day 2 after its release, it seems that the movie succumbed to the controversy and failed to do well at the box office. The movie didn’t even gross Rs. 500,000 on Day 1.
72 Hoorain, which starred Aamir Bashir and Pawan Malhotra, made around Rs 0.35 crore. The movie performed better on Day 2 than it had on Day 1, although preliminary estimates indicate that it only made about Rs 0.45 crore instead of even close to Rs 1 crore. The movie made a total of Rs. 0.80 crore. According to estimations, the movie had an 11.60% total occupancy in the Hindi-speaking region.

After the Central Board of Film Certification purportedly refused to release 72 Hoorain’s trailer before to its release, the story made news. Co-producer of the movie Ashoke Pandit sent a video message on Instagram in response to the CBFC’s official declaration. The letter addressed false media claims that the CBFC had rejected certification of the movie and its trailer. He said that on October 10, 2019, a ‘A’ certification was given to 72 Hoorain.

“Now, the trailer of said film is under due process,” the letter said, “which was applied to CBFC on June 19, 2023 and examined in accordance with the Guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.” The applicant was requested to provide the necessary documentation upon notification, and after receiving them, certification was granted with certain revisions. The applicant/filmmaker was sent a show cause notice outlining the adjustments on June 27, 2023, and a response or compliance is still awaited.
