Emraan Hashmi believes the filmmakers used his reputation as a “serial kisser,” adding, “It was not required.”

The term “serial kisser” is widely used to describe Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who rose to fame early in his career for his audacious and personal moments in films like “Murder,” “Aksar,” and “Crook.”

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Emraan said that it seems that some filmmakers are still taking advantage of his well-established reputation, even if the actor tries to lessen the amount of sensual moments in his movies.

The ‘Murder’ actor said that he heeds his wife’s advise when it comes to kissing sequences in movies, when asked why he stopped performing them and whether he ever personally favored them. The actor said that although he always intended to play it more subdued in movies, many filmmakers took advantage of the image he helped to establish.

The actor went on to elaborate, saying that it became standard procedure to appease the crowd. He says that when he watches his own movies, he sometimes believes that some moments weren’t necessary, but that the audience was also awakened by them. It was a movie lead, but he got the short end of the stick.

The actor said that his wife used to worry about him conducting kissing sequences when he was questioned about it. She did, he replied, but not any more because he no longer performs those types of situations.
Meanwhile, the teaser for new series “Showtime” directed by Karan Johar was just released. “Showtime,” directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, is hailed as a “monumental tale of ambition and legacy in the film industry.”
