Farzi and Bloody Daddy by Shahid Kapoor are included among the “Top OTT Originals of the Week”

Shahid Kapoor’s career in Bollywood hasn’t been steady. With films like Fida, Udta Punjab, and Kabir Singh being significant box office blockbusters and others like Phata Poster Nikla Hero, R Rajkumar, and Fool N Final turning out to be box office disasters, he has produced both triumphs and failures in equal measure. He seems to be one of the few well-known performers who have significantly shifted to OTT, however, after a string of duds.

Shahid starred in the very successful film Kabir Singh just before the COVID-19 epidemic. The epidemic altered the nature of movies and entertainment in general, as we saw firsthand. When movie fans were forced to stay indoors during the lockdowns, OTT replaced traditional media as their main source of entertainment.

This is likely the reason why Shahid’s first film after the epidemic, Jersey, flopped at the box office despite earning favorable reviews. The actor just made his OTT debut with the Amazon Prime series Farzi, as he has allegedly chosen to take advantage of the popularity of OTT platforms. Viewers have flocked in droves to see Vijay Sethupathi, a popular actor in Tamil cinema, in his debut Hindi film.

Farzi, which was made available for streaming in February of this year, is still popular as it is now at number 8 on Ormax Media’s list of the “Top OTT Originals of the Week.” And there are more Shahid Kapoor projects on the list as well. JioCinema just began offering free streaming of Bloody Daddy, an action thriller starring Shahid. It has also gotten a tremendous amount of feedback from fans, many of whom are comparing it to the John Wick movies. Also appearing at number three on Ormax Media’s list is Bloody Daddy.

Recently, even well-known performers have begun to make their OTT debuts. Rudra, starring Ajay Devgn, has began streaming on Disney+Hotstar and has been well welcomed by reviewers and viewers.
