Final Rites for Pankaj Udhas: The late singer’s body arrives at his home; Worli will host the funeral

Last Rites for Pankaj Udhas: Worli will host the final ceremonies for the ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas on Tuesday afternoon. His body arrived at his home at 6A, Hill Side, here. Following a protracted illness, Pankaj passed away in Mumbai on Monday at the age of 72. He had been receiving treatment for cancer at a private hospital for a while. His body is seen being transported by ambulance from the Breach Candy hospital in the video.

In the video, family members and loved ones can be seen paying their final respects to Padma Shri recipient Pankaj Udhas, whose portrait is kept in his home’s garden. Arriving at the house was also spotted singer Shankar Mahadevan.

Manhar Udhas, Pankaj’s elder brother, is also seen arriving at the house in the snippet. Manhar is a singer from Gujarat and Hindi.

The details of his funeral, which will take place in Worli this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., were previously disclosed by her daughter Nayaab Udhas.

“With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of his demise on February 26, 2024 due to a prolonged illness,” the social media note states.
