FIR filed against Fazilpuria and Elvish for ‘using’ snakes in a music video

Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, and singer Rahul Yadav, also known as Fazilpuria, have been arrested by the Gurugram police for allegedly using rare and illegal snake species in the “.32 bore” music video.

On the orders of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Kumar Rana’s court, a case under Section 294 of the IPC and pertinent provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, was lodged at the Badshahpur police station.

An NGO called “People for Animals” was contacted by local resident Saurabh Gupta, who filed a complaint against them. In his lawsuit, he said that in a video that went viral on social media, Elvish, Fazilpuria, and fifty other people could be seen employing different snakes.

He said that the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 forbade such actions. Saurabh filed a plea under CrPC 156(3), requesting that the police be given the necessary instructions to open a case.

He said that in order to film the video, neither Elvish nor Fazilpuria had gotten permission from the district government, the Animal Welfare Board, or the Forest Department.

In addition to stating that the complaint against Elvish could only be determined by a fair, proper, thorough, and impartial police investigation, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Kumar Rana issued orders on Thursday to register a formal complaint. This would “not only save the valuable time of the court, but also be instrumental in separating the chaff from the grains.”

Saurabh has further claimed that during the song’s music video shoot at a mall, Elvish and Fazilpuria engaged in lewd behaviour.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Badshahpur police station would look into the matter further, according to a spokeswoman for the Gurugram police.

The police had not detained them, according to SHO Satish Deshwal. “I shall investigate the court’s directives and take appropriate action. When the next hearing date is set for April 10, I will also submit the compliance report in this matter,” he said.

A Gurugram court this week granted Elvish bail in relation to an assault case involving another YouTuber, Sagar Thakur, nicknamed Maxtern.

Elvish was detained by the Noida police on March 17 for allegedly peddling snake venom at rave parties in the nation’s capital. Five citizens of Delhi were also suspected of being engaged in it along with him.

However, a local judge granted him release after he spent a week in police prison.

In a letter sent to the District and Sessions Judge of Gurugram, the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and the Gurugram Police Commissioner, Saurabh also said that he has been getting death threats on social media after the court orders. He said he was under pressure to back out of the case.
