Karan Johar Shares His Mother’s Reaction To His Decision To Have Children: “I Really Told Her I…”

Yash and Roohi, Karan Johar’s twins, are a topic of much discussion. The two were adopted by the director in 2017 and are shared parents with his mother, Hiroo Johar. KJo spoke candidly about his intention to use surrogacy to have children in a recent interview, including how his mother responded to his request.

In a recent interview with The Week, Karan Johar said that his mother thought it was “wonderful” that he had children. “Since marriage wasn’t in the cards, my mother asked me what my life goals were when I was 40. I told her how much I wanted children. I was taking my time, but she was fantastic about it,” he said.

The director of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also said that he could only visit the hospital a month after disclosing that he was carrying children via surrogacy.

β€œShe reminded me again a year later. It wasn’t until the doctors told me that the three months of pregnancy were over that I told her about it. Although the infants were supposed to come in April, they did so in February. I had to formally declare their presence after learning that a few journalists would be covering the story once they arrived from a trip to London. Only a month later could I visit the hospital,” he said.

Karan Johar discusses his children a lot. Karan said to Indian Express in August 2023 that he did not want to burden Yash and Roohi by expecting them to continue his legacy. “At this moment, I am establishing the business to safeguard their prospects, but I’m not sure if they will join Dharma in the future,” Karan said.

Regarding business, Karan Johar is now presenting the eighth season of his well-liked celebrity talk program Koffee With Karan. This March, Yodha, his next film, which has Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role, will be released in theaters. In addition to this, KJo and Kartik Aaryan will soon work together on a Sandeep Modi-directed movie.
