Learn About the Real-Life Story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, Played by Vikrant Massey in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail

On October 27, producer and director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail,” which is an adaptation of the best-selling book by Anurag Pathak, will be released. The movie, which also stars Vikrant Massey and Palak Lalwani, explores the lives of IRS employee Shraddha Joshi and IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. The film was inspired by various true stories of UPSC civil service test candidates.

Along with Massey and Lalwani, Vikas Divyakirti, who successfully passed the UPSC CSE in 1996, will also appear in the movie. According to rumors, he will portray himself in the film. After working for the Ministry of Home Affairs for a year, Divyakirti left to open his own tutoring facility, Drishti IAS, in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, where the majority of the movie was filmed.

WHO ARE IRS OFFICER SHRADDHA JOSHI AND IPS OFFICER MANOJ KUMAR SHARMA?

Sharma, a citizen of Madhya Pradesh’s Morena area, was born into an extremely underprivileged household. In classes 9 and 10, he passed with a third division. He failed every subject in the class 12 board exams with the exception of Hindi. But later in Manoj’s life, something happened that fundamentally altered his outlook.

In class twelve, Manoj Kumar Sharma fell in love with Shraddha Joshi. He was unable to propose to Joshi since he failed class twelve. Sharma was frightened, but after giving the matter more deliberation, he proposed to Joshi, and to his surprise, she said yes. He made a proposal to the girl and promised to “turn the world around” if she answered yes.

Manoj Sharma then began getting ready for the UPSC CSE. Shraddha Joshi gave him a lot of support. To become an IPS, Sharma had to put up a lot of effort on all fronts. To make some money, he drove a tempo and sometimes had to spend several nights sharing a bed with beggars. He also had a job at a Delhi library, which was incredibly helpful to him. He read about the works and lives of several well-known authors at the library, from poet Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh to Maxim Gorky and Abraham Lincoln.

In spite of taking the UPS CSE test four times, Manoj Kumar Sharma failed the first three times. He finally succeeded in passing the test on his fourth try, earning an All India Rank (AIR) of 121. He graduated from the IPS program and is now employed with the Mumbai Police as an Additional Commissioner. Because of his dominant demeanor, IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma has earned the nicknames Singham and Simba from some. Later, Manoj wed Shraddha Joshi, who is now an IRS official.
