Leo To Jawan, Seven Television Films During Pongal

Pongal is widely observed across India with considerable fervor. This event lasts for four days. This year’s event is scheduled to take place from January 15 to January 18. But for cinema buffs, a celebration wouldn’t be complete without seeing a film. This year, a number of films will be shown on television in honor of Pongal.

1. Leo

The film Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay, is scheduled to premiere on Sun TV on January 15 at 6:30 p.m. Producer Seven Screen Studio and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are behind this action-thriller movie. In important parts are also played by Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. Leo was the second-highest-earning Tamil film of 2023 and a big success at the box office.

2. Jigarthanda DoubleX

On January 16, Karthik Subbaraj’s written and directed film Jigarthanda DoubleX will also air on Sun TV. Jigarthanda (2014)’s spiritual successor and precursor, this action drama film has significant performances by Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah, and Nimisha Sajayan.

3. Kazhuvethi Moorkkan

On January 15, Kaniyar TV will screen the political action drama Kazhuvethi Moorkkan, starring Arulnithi, as a Pongal special. Critics gave Sy Gowthama Raj’s film, which he also directed, favorable reviews.

4. Iraivan

Iraivan, a psychological action thriller starring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara, will also be shown on TV during Pongal. Under the Passion Studios umbrella, Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram produced the film, which was directed by I Ahmed.

5. Jawan

Zee Tamil TV will premiere Jawan, the Atlee-directed film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara that brought in over Rs 1,148.32 crore worldwide, on January 14.

6. Paramporul

On January 14 at 3 p.m., Vijay TV will broadcast the Tamil-language crime thriller Paramporul, which stars R Sarathkumar and Amitash Pradhan in the main parts.

7. Maamannan

Vijay TV will air Udhayanidhi Stalin’s political drama Maamannan at 5:30 p.m. The release date of Maamannan was June 20, 2023. Critics gave the movie favorable reviews, and it made Rs 52 crore at the box office.
