“More” than Prabhas, SRK, Ranbir, Hrithik, and Salman, the most bankable celebrity in India with films in development valued at Rs 2000 crore
The Hindi cinema industry has had a resurgence of sorts in 2023. Bollywood films had a sharp decline in box office receipts after the outbreak. Over Rs 500 crore was never made by a Hindi film in 2020, 2021, or 2022. Then, this year brought about a turnaround in that regard, with four Bollywood films succeeding and several more performing well. As a result, a lot of stars have signed massive projects for the future, counting on their triumphs. Stars like Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan are scheduled to feature in major motion pictures. However, one specific celebrity, whose films are valued at Rs 2000 crore and are awaiting release, dwarfs them all.

The actress with the most major motion pictures scheduled for release is Deepika Padukone. The actress, who starred in Jawan and Pathaan, the two highest-grossing Indian movies of 2023, is now starring in three megafilms slated for release in 2024: Fighter, Kalki 2898 AD, and Singham Again. Hrithik Roshan co-stars in Fighter, her first film, an action thriller including airborne scenes. The estimated budget for the movie is Rs 250 crore. Next, Deepika will appear in Nag Ashwin’s pan-Indian film Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Kamal Haasan and Prabhas. With a Rs 600 crore budget, it’s reportedly the most costly Indian film ever made. After that, Deepika will round off the year with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which was produced at a budget of Rs 200 crore.
Furthermore, if not released so soon, sources state that Deepika is involved in two additional projects that may be completed in 2024. Aya Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part 2 is the first of them. Deepika made a brief appearance in Part 1 and is anticipated to return in the currently-written sequel. The film is reportedly being shot at a budget of Rs 400 crore. After that, Deepika will appear in Pathaan 2 and Tiger vs. Pathaan, two more YRF Spy Universe movies. According to reports, the budget for each of these movies would exceed Rs 250 crore. Another film that Deepika has in the works is the Hindi version of The Intern, starring Amitabh Bachchan. With a total budget of almost Rs 2000 crore for all of these movies, Deepika is now the most sought-after and financially secure celebrity in India.
