Netizens Criticize Ranveer Singh’s Performance as “Don,” Saying “Isiliye Wait Nahi Kar Rahe The”

On Wednesday morning, it was revealed that Bollywood hotshot Ranveer Singh will portray the legendary role of Don, which had previously been portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Social media, however, seemed unimpressed.

Javed Akhtar, the father of Farhan Akhtar, and Salim Khan, the grandfather of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who was their then creative partner, created the character of Don. Amitabh Bachchan played the title role in the 1978 film that became known as “Don.”

Years later, the movie was reproduced by Farhan in 2006 and Don 2 in 2011, both of which starred Shah Rukh Khan, a superstar in Bollywood, in the title character.

 

On Wednesday, the teaser was released, giving Ranveer his first appearance as Don.

 

“Sher jo so raha hai woh jaage ka kab poochte hai yeh sab,” Ranveer was heard saying before revealing himself as Don in a dramatic way. Unse kehdo fir jaag utha hun main and phir saamne jald aaneko kya hai himmat meri fir dikhaane ko, mait se khlena zindagi hai meri jeetna hi mera kaam hai and tum toh ho jaante jo mera naam hai.

 

“11 Mulko ki Police Dhoondti Hai Mujhe Par Pakdaaya Hai Mujhko Kaun? Primary don.

 

But social media users and franchise devotees were underwhelmed.

 

One person wrote: “I am now death, Ranveer Singh, destroyer of the entire franchise.”

 

An another person added: “SRK fans disappointment button.”

 

No offense to Ranveer, but I believe @iamsrk declined to reprise his role as Don since the teaser is subpar and makes it seem as if I’m watching an advertisement. However, remember that this is only the beginning and to never judge a book by its cover, said an optimistic user.

 

When you purchase Dib from Meesho, someone joked.

 

“Don 3 ka isiliye wait nahi kar rahe the,” yelled a person incensed.

 

Another said, “I’m bleeding from the eyes.”

 

Then then, there were others who backed Ranveer.

 

One individual said, “Ranveer Singh ki acting mind blowing hoti hai.”

 

“Excitement doubled for this,” one other comment.

 

It says, “Sabhi log khush hai, log pasand kar rahe hai Ranveer Singh ko.”
