Nicole Kidman has achieved success as a producer, but she declines to become a director

Nicole Kidman, a Hollywood celebrity and creator of popular television shows like “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers,” was honored with the esteemed AFI Life Achievement Award yesterday. As Kidman enjoyed the attention this homage brought her, it was evident that she had no ambition to direct even if she is a successful producer.

Kidman thanked all of the filmmakers she has worked with over the years in her victory speech, according to reports.

She did, however, freely acknowledge, “I feel like I would be a horrible director because I always have so much to say. A director must make decisions, and I’m not very good at that.”

Kidman clarified her choice for producing in a red carpet interview, saying, “I’m extremely excellent at being enthusiastic and supporting the voices… I truly like doing it; it makes me happy and gets me excited. I like bringing others to light or assisting in doing so.”

Kidman has supported several projects via her producing business, Blossom Films, demonstrating her ability to spot talent and convey gripping stories.

Works such as ‘The Undoing,’ ‘Love And Death,’ and ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ demonstrate her dedication to advancing various perspectives within the business.

Kidman stressed her commitment to supporting up-and-coming talent at the AFI tribute event, saying, “There’s so many more exciting young directors and voices that are completely original and need to be heard.”

She was anxious to provide these voices a platform so that their tales could be shared and promised to help them going forward.

Stars including Morgan Freeman, Reese Witherspoon, and Meryl Streep attended the star-studded event, which highlighted Kidman’s influence in the business.
Kidman maintained her modesty in the face of such a prominent acknowledgment at the young age of 56, declaring her passion for the performing trade and her readiness to accept any honors with thanks.

In light of Meryl Streep’s accomplishment, Kidman said, “I’ll take whatever you give me because in terms of the work, I just love doing the work.”
