Rajinikanth congratulates the Chennai team from the Malayalam film “Manjummel Boys”

‘Manjummel Boys,’ a Malayalam film directed by Chidambaram with stars like Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and others, was released in February and did rather well at the box office. With worldwide receipts of almost Rs 200 crore, it became the highest-grossing Malayalam film to date. The movie still rules the box office in a number of locations. The film’s crew has received praise from many celebrities for their incredible accomplishment. Rajinikanth recently visited them in Chennai, and a photo of their meeting was posted on Instagram.

Following his attendance at a special screening of “Manjummel Boys,” Rajinikanth invited the crew to his home as a way of showing his gratitude for their accomplishment. When director Chidambaram and performers Ganapathi, Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, and Deepak Parambol met Rajinikanth, they made a lasting snapshot of the happy moment shared between them. The post on social media that included the group photo from their meeting said, “Thank you S U P E R S T A R.” The performers are seen in the picture posing for a picture together, grinning broadly.

On February 22, 2023, the Malayalam blockbuster was shown in cinemas. Both reviewers and fans have praised the film widely since its premiere. It has been one of the greatest box office successes in Malayalam film, earning over Rs 200 crore. Fans are now excitedly awaiting its digital launch, almost a month after its theatrical premiere. The movie is allegedly scheduled to launch on Disney+Hotstar on April 5, 2024, as an over-the-top release.

The movie tells the story of a group of friends from the quiet hamlet of Manjummel in Kochi who decide to go to Kodaikanal together. It is based on actual events that happened in 2006. “Manjummel Boys” broke box office records and became the highest-grossing picture ever produced in the Malayalam language, creating history in the film industry. In addition, it ranked third among the highest-grossing Indian movies of 2024.
