Rebel Wilson talks about her experience losing weight and admits that she eats emotionally

Actress Rebel Wilson has spoken up about the “emotional war” she experienced due to her weight. Wilson previously criticized actor Sacha Baron Cohen over exposing personal sequences.

According to “People” magazine, the 44-year-old actress spoke candidly about her experience losing weight and recounted going through a mental struggle between feeling embarrassed of her eating habits and being “a proud fat female.”

She said to “People” that “I think I’m a beacon of body positivity to many people because I see people who, if you look at their weight, are considered medically obese, but I think they are absolutely beautiful.” I really believe that beauty can be found in different forms, thus I actively support that.

“People are like, ‘Well, how can you be so body-positive and yet be hating yourself,'” she said. However, I was just disliking those repulsive behaviors—not myself.

“For instance, forcing myself to get up early in the morning and go to the gym for an hour and a half, eating an entire tub of ice cream every night and then feeling bad about myself, and running on that treadmill until occasionally my back would hurt.”

She told “People” that cycle didn’t stop until she realized the emotional causes of her actions.

She identified as a “emotional eater” and said that, even with the support of treatment, changing her lifestyle took time.

“I would be hard on myself,” she said. I said to myself, “How am I this person who succeeds in so many areas, earns two degrees from universities, makes millions of dollars, starts from nothing, and builds this amazing career, but I can’t lose weight?” I used to constantly criticize myself for it and ask myself, “What’s wrong with me?”
