Regarding the Financial Hardship of His Family, Abhishek Bachchan said, “Left College, Made Tea On Set”

New Delhi: A while back, Abhishek Bachchan spoke candidly about the “rough time” his family went through before his Bollywood debut. In 2000, Abhishek debuted on the big screen in the movie Refugee. Also making her debut was Kareena Kapoor, who was directed by JP Dutta. During a roundtable with Galatta Plus, Abhishek said, “I returned from my college after leaving.

” Financially, my father, Amitabh Bachchan, was having some difficulties. He had started a business that had suffered significant losses. I then said, “I must be with my father.” Then, Abhishek explained how he even served tea on set while working as a production boy for Gautam Berry. The actor-turned-director Abhishek stated that no filmmaker was prepared to take on the task of introducing Amitabh Bachchan’s son.
Additionally, Abhishek Bachchan disclosed how he and his buddy Rakesh Mehra decided to take things into their own hands and prepared a screenplay that Amitabh Bachchan finally rejected.

Speaking about the financial crisis, Abhishek Bachchan said, “You planned like months ahead of time for Filmfare 20 years ago, so how come it didn’t work out?” [You’re going to wear it.] Verify that day is not your shooting day.As a dinosaur, I could not have imagined living in this world. [Back then, clothing had to be purchased; nobody sent clothing.] It was a significant event. Everybody in the business was present. Before this deluge of awards, the only significant accolades were screen and filmfare. It was a special event. It was an enormous honor. Say what should I wear? It sounds strange, I know. We couldn’t afford to buy more clothing, so I didn’t have many. We were attempting to live as simply as possible at a difficult period.

“I had no idea what to dress. I didn’t believe it was appropriate to arrive wearing a T-shirt and trousers. Thus, I went wearing the sherwani that was created for my sister’s wedding (Shweta Bachchan) a few years ago, Abhishek Bachchan said.

Then, Abhishek Bachchan remembered that year’s Best Director winner for Border was JP Dutta. He saw Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan seated together as he was making his way down the stage. JP Dutta made Abhishek an offer for his debut movie two days later.

Following Refugee, Abhishek Bachchan acted in Delhi 6, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Dhoom, and Bunty Aur Babli. He most recently appeared with Saiyami Kher in Ghoomer.
