Rishab Shetty Ups Budget For Prequel By Over Rs 100 Crore For Kantara 2? Know This

Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, received favorable reviews from everyone and dominated the box office when it was released. Fans are already anticipating the movie’s prequel, and it has just come to light that Kantara 2 is being developed on a huge budget.

According to report, the film Kantara 2 has a staggering budget of Rs 125 crore. The first act of the movie reportedly cost Rs 16 crore. If this is accurate, the budget for the prequel to Kantara has jumped by more than Rs 100 crore. News18 Showsha is unable to verify the report’s veracity, however.

Rishab Shetty played the main role in Kantara, which was released in September 2022. In addition to directing and writing the movie. Everyone, including politicians, cricket players, actors, and audience members, loved the movie. Additionally, the movie took in than Rs 450 crore at the box office. Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, recently mentioned Rishab Shetty’s Kantara in his parliamentary statement. When explaining how Indian films are gaining respect on a worldwide scale, Thakur used the successful passing of The Cinematograph (Amendment Bill) 2023 in the Rajya Sabha, which also got approved in the Lok Sabha, as an example.

In the meanwhile, a prequel to the movie was revealed in February of this year, and production is anticipated to start in November 2023. Speaking about Kantara 2 earlier this year, Shetty said that the film’s prequel would be published after what the fans genuinely wanted to see, which was part 2.

“With the grace of the All-Powerful Daiva, the film has successfully passed 100 days, and I would like to use this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. We are extremely glad and grateful to the public who had shown enormous love and support to Kantara and taking the adventure forward. Part 1 will be released the following year, so what you’ve seen is really Part 2.
