Sharad Kelkar considers the privilege of playing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” on Shivaji Jayanti

Actor Sharad Kelkar, who portrayed the legendary Indian king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the hit movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, has conveyed his deep feelings about the role. As the country commemorates Shivaji Jayanti, Kelkar talks candidly about the privilege and importance of making this historical hero into a movie.
Sharad Kelkar called Shivaji a pioneer and recognized his crucial role in creating Hindu Swaraj in India in an interview with the Hindustan Times.

Sharad spoke about his surprising yet significant path into the part and how surprised he was to get the chance from director Om Raut. Sharad Kelkar’s distinct personality connected with the director’s concept for Shivaji, even though he had never met or talked to Om Raut before.
