Watch: IU Releases First Look at Upcoming Single Love Wins

On January 14, South Korean artist Lee Ji-eun, better known by her stage as IU, released the teaser for Love Wins, her forthcoming pre-release song. With this new song, the 30-year-old, who took a nearly two-year hiatus from her professional obligations, will make her comeback. The much-awaited single will be available on January 24. In addition to the delightful surprise, IU signed up for TikTok, a platform that streams short videos, before her first album was released.

In the unsettling Love Wins teaser, IU’s half-face is illuminated by an unsettling red light. The singer is seen crying as the camera focuses on one of her eyes. The mysterious video clip also includes the song’s title and release date. Although not much is known about the new tune, the graphics have surely been the talk of the town, amongst IU’s fans.

People on social media weren’t waiting to share their delight over the new song. One person, however, made the comment, “How long has it been since I had this thrill with the release of the teaser? “I am excited about January 24th,” a second person jokingly said. “The queen is returning.” A third IU fan said, “I can’t wait to hear your voice…the way you sing it and your feelings.” Several others expressed their support by sending in a ton of red heart emojis.

IU announced her arrival on TikTok on X, the platform that was originally known as Twitter. “IU (IU) OFFICIAL TIKTOK OPEN (NOTICE). The IU TikTok channel is now active! She included a link to her account and commented, “Thank you for your love.”

One IU supporter responded to the news by saying, “Oh my god, yess!” Is it possible for further TikTok collaborations with other idols? Another excited user said, “Can’t wait for the challenge with Taehyung and Suga.” One additional remark read, “Welcome my idol.”

Additionally, IU and V, a member of a South Korean boyband, have cooperated, according to EDAM Entertainment and BigHit Music, respectively. IU has already completed filming the song video with V, according to a report from EDAM Entertainment. Later on, Big Hit Music confirmed that the report was “correct”. Sometime this year, the song will be released.
