Were you aware that Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman cost Shah Rukh Khan Rs 50,000?

Shah Rukh Khan is without a doubt the box office king; with Jawan, Pathaan, and Dunki, he alone brought in Rs 1600 crore in revenue in 2023. However, the actor received a meager Rs 50,000 for the film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, which marked the beginning of his cinematic career.
Viveck Vaswani, the producer, revealed his affinity with superstar Siddharth Kannan during their talk.

The last collaboration between Vivek and SRK was for the movie Dulha Mil Gaya, which also featured Fardeen Khan and Sushmita Sen. The producer said that SRK met with director Mudassar Aziz after Sushmita Sen proposed him for the part. He said that SRK agreed to shoot the movie without having even seen the screenplay. He also claimed that this is Viveck’s first visit to him and that there would be no fees.
Although the movie didn’t do very well at the box office, SRK got more than 42 minutes of screen time. According to Viveck, although SRK didn’t have a cameo, he also didn’t shoot a significant part, with all of his shots being completed in five days. SRK had a shoulder injury during filming this movie, and his hand was bandaged for a considerable amount of time.

In addition, Viveck said that Shah Rukh had signed many deals around the time of his premiere, meaning that concurrent productions of Deewana, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Chamatkar, and Dil Aashna Hai were underway. Raju was supposed to be SRK’s first movie, but Viveck said that if Deewana comes out first and does well, Raju would be more expensive and if it doesn’t work, Raju will rescue him. In addition, Vivek said that he gave SRK Rs 50,000 in exchange for Raju, adding that King Khan used the money as pocket money since they shared a home. The producer also pointed out that in the 1990s, Rs 50,000 was a very acceptable sum for a rookie performer.
