When Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Made This ‘Rule’ To Put Their Personal Lives First

The Gossip Girl actress recently spoke about her over ten-year relationship and disclosed a “rule” that she and her now-husband established early on.

Speaking at the 36-year-old actress’s Substack event Further Ado, Amber Tamblyn also discussed how the rule helps them manage their relationship and careers.

“Ryan and I agreed early on that we wouldn’t work simultaneously. in order for us to always put our personal life first. That requires putting in a lot of effort when we’re not. Prioritizing their personal life is crucial, and Lively noted that maintaining financial planning and sustainability requires balance.

She went on to say that she used to “work hard and go and go and go and not stop,” and that over the six years of her existence, Gossip Girl would occupy the most of her time. She said, “There were times when we shot three episodes at once.”

During an October 2016 interview with People, the Deadpool actor discussed how they prioritized motherhood above their careers and stressed the need of instilling “self-awareness” in their kids.

“I believe that talking to them about everything is more important. When I say that I’m really interested in their days and how they’re doing, I mean it. The nicest part of my day, in my opinion, is walking kids to and from school. He continued, stating that parenting has evolved from the past.

It’s just quite different right now. Humans now have much more self-awareness. And with our children, self-awareness is what we kind of hang our hat on the most. Be self-aware and open to everything; don’t be content or anything else,” he said.

For the uninitiated, Lively and Reynolds were coworkers. They were in other relationships at the time, so they didn’t date, even though they were in the superhero movie Green Lantern. Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson, while Lively was in a relationship with Penn Badgley. On the other hand, the two made their breakup public in 2010. Finally, rumors of their romance began to circulate in 2011. The pair wed in a modest, covert ceremony in September 2012, giving everyone a break.
