For MBBS students in the 2020–21 batch who failed the exam, NMC is giving them another chance; see the official notification

According to a recent announcement by the National Medical Commission (NMC), MBBS students who entered in the 2020–21 academic year and had difficulties completing their first professional MBBS test because to the Covid-19 epidemic will be granted a fifth opportunity.

“As this batch was also affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Medical Commission decided to allow one additional attempt (FIFTH attempt) to such MBBS students who were admitted in medical colleges during the academic year 2020–21 and could not pass their first professional MBBS examination,” the official notification states.

The NMC emphasized that this is a one-time action and won’t set a standard for such actions in the future. The goal of this choice is to lessen the effects of the pandemic’s conditions on pupils.

In the meanwhile, the commission has given war-torn Ukraine’s foreign medical graduates (FMGs) a one-time chance to finish their remaining medical education in another nation. Before being registered, these FMGs must successfully complete a two-year rotating medical internship (CRMI) after passing the FMG test.
