Gazans with 40–50 injuries arrive in Egypt every day: Minister

Since November 1, Egypt has been receiving 40 to 50 injured Palestinians from Gaza every day on average for treatment, according to Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar.

According to Xinhua news agency, he said during a press conference held at Al-Arish Hospital in the North Sinai Province that all of the patients arrived via the Rafah border and the most of them were in bad condition.
In addition to incidents of shrapnel injuries in the brain, eyes, and lungs, he said that women and children made up at least 60% of the wounded, some of whom lost limbs.
He said that medical facilities in the North Sinai Province are prepared to handle injured Palestinians, adding that some cases would be sent, if needed, to facilities in the provinces of Port Said, Ismailia, and Cairo.

Approximately 150 ambulances are on standby in the province and close to the Rafah border, Abdel-Ghaffar said.

First injured Gazans entered Egypt via the Rafah gate on November 1, the first day after Israel began its murderous shelling of the embattled Palestinian territory earlier in October.

Palestinian health authorities said on Saturday that the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip has risen to 9,488 with 23,000 wounded.
