Khalid Mahmood, a former PCB chairman, criticizes the board for ignoring Imran Khan’s involvement in the I-Day video

Khalid Mahmood, the former head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has urged that the Independence Day film be taken down because it fails to recognize Imran Khan’s contributions to the sport in the nation.

To honor previous greats who contributed to defining the history of the game in Pakistan, the PCB published the film.

However, the board has faced harsh criticism and anger over the film, which makes no mention of or includes any image of the former captain Imran, who guided Pakistan to the 1992 World Cup victory.

Imran’s contribution to Pakistan cricket must be properly acknowledged in this new release of the film, Mahmood said the “Aaj” channel.

Mahmood referred to it as farcical that everyone made a scene when the ICC published the World Cup promo film and improperly acknowledged Babar Azam.

Mahmood, who has held a number of significant roles on the board, stated, “We should first look at ourselves as to what we are doing with our own heroes before criticizing others.

You may disagree with Imran Khan as a politician or what transpired when he served as Prime Minister on a variety of issues. However, it does not imply you should disregard his contribution as a player and captain to Pakistan’s success. Mahmood lamented the fact that everything in Pakistan is presently being scrutinized politically, even sports.

This episode just serves to highlight the incompetence and political motivation of the board’s administrators. He said Imran was crucial to Pakistan’s World Cup victory and has earned respect for Pakistan cricket on multiple times.

“How can you disregard his contribution, regardless of his politics? I vehemently reject this film and am furious that it was let to exist.
