Taiwan claims that three fishing boats and eleven Chinese coast guard ships had entered the restricted seas of Kinmen

Taipei [Taiwan], May 10: According to Taiwan News, two convoys of up to 11 Chinese coast guard ships and three fishing boats entered Kinmen’s restricted and forbidden seas.

At midday on Thursday, local time, the Taiwanese Coast Guard discovered the Chinese ships south of Kinmen’s sea. Rigid seas were breached around 7 km southwest of Kinmen by up to 7 Chinese coast guard ships and 3 Chinese commerce vessels that may have been conducting drills with them.

According to a Taiwan News article, Taiwan’s Coast Guard sent out three patrol boats to keep an eye on and warn ten Chinese ships.

Four Chinese coast guard ships entered the restricted and forbidden seas south of Kinmen at the same moment. The Taiwan Coast Guard sent out three more patrol boats to keep an eye on the situation in reaction to Chinese actions.

Taiwan News stated that the Chinese ships departed Kinmen seas about 4:30 pm (local time) after being seen by Coast Guard patrol boats. It was the fourth time in May that Chinese coast guard ships had entered the seas around Kinmen, according to Taiwan’s Coast Guard.

According to the study, Taiwan’s Coast Guard said that the southern seas of Kinmen are significant shipping channels with a high volume of marine traffic.

It also claimed that Taiwan-China peaceful contacts have been hampered by the Chinese warships’ frequent high-speed formations, which have harmed maritime safety and impacted cross-strait peace and stability.

Four Chinese coast guard ships had invaded Taiwan Coast Guard territorial waters off the coast of Kinmen earlier on May 6, however Taiwan News said that the Taiwan Coast Guard boats drove the Chinese ships away.

The Coast Guard of Taiwan On Monday, Chinese coast guard boats with the numbers 14608, 14604, 14512, and 14603 entered the territorial seas of Kinmen. Around 4:37 p.m. (local time), the Chinese warships withdrew when the Coast Guard sent out three patrol boats.

According to the Coast Guard, ships from China have lately entered the seas south of Kinmen. Patrol boats have been sent by Taiwan Coast Guard troops to intercept and eject the Chinese vessels.

According to Taiwan News, the Coast Guard said that a large number of boats navigate, enter, and exit ports, as well as anchor while awaiting port entrance, in the seas south of Kinmen, which function as a vital gateway.

Taiwan’s Coast Guard said that the Chinese Coast Guard’s fast-paced travel in these seas had “severely disrupted cross-strait peace and stability, affecting maritime safety and traffic order.”

In order to “maintain maritime order and ensure the safety and well-being of people on both sides of the strait, it is imperative that China cease these actions and uphold the principle of reciprocity and mutual respect.”

In reaction to China’s moves, Taiwan’s Coast Guard said that it would keep a close eye on the situation. In order to protect maritime safety and order, the Coast Guard stated it would remove Chinese ships into restricted seas. It does this by upholding the tough law enforcement posture of “no provocation, no conflict, and no evasion”.
