The 29th day of the conflict has seen 9,770 deaths in Gaza

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the enclave announced in its most recent update that the total dead toll in the Gaza Strip had risen to 9,770, including 4,008 children and 2,550 women, as the blazing Israel-Hamas conflict raged for a 29th day on Monday.

The Ministry reports that in the last 24 hours, at least 243 Palestinians have died.

Of the 243 fatalities, 65 were attributed to airstrikes that targeted residential structures in the three refugee camps in the North Gaza governorate—Al Bureij, Al Maghazi, and Deir Al Balah and Jabaliya.

In the enclave under Hamas’ control, 24,173 individuals have been wounded since the conflict began on October 7. 2,260 more persons—1,270 of them children—have been reported missing.

The UN Office for Coordinated Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that around 1.5 million persons in Gaza are internally displaced (IDPs) in its most recent status update.

Out of the total, over 717,000 are being housed in 149 UN Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) structures, 122,000 in public spaces including hospitals and churches, and 110,000 in 89 schools.

OCHA emphasized that, with over 530,000 people housed in 92 UNRWA facilities in the south and shelters unable to take in further arrivals, overcrowding remained a serious problem.

It also said, “Many displaced people are sleeping in the streets, close to UNRWA premises, in an attempt to find safety.”

The UN Office said that since October 11, Gaza has been completely without energy due to Israel’s cessation of its fuel and power supplies, which caused the lone power plant in the enclave to shut down.

As a consequence of the fuel shortage, the primary electrical generators at the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza and the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City are said to have ceased working.

The most essential services are only partially powered by secondary, smaller generators that are operated by both hospitals for a few hours each day.

51 of all primary care institutions in Gaza have closed because of damage or fuel shortages since hostilities began, while 14 of the 35 hospitals have ceased operations.

Approximately 1,400 Israeli Israelis and foreign nationalities have died in the Jewish state in the meanwhile.

The bulk of the deaths, according to Israeli officials, were reported on October 7.

828 civilians and 1,159 other people’s names have been made public as of November 3.

Thirty-one of those whose ages are known are minors.

242 individuals, including Israelis and international nationalities, are reportedly being kept hostage in Gaza, according to Israeli officials.

According to media accounts, around thirty of the captives are minors.

Thus far, Israeli troops have freed one female soldier and freed four civilian hostages held by Hamas.

According to Hamas, Israeli airstrikes killed 57 of the captives.

There had apparently been one Israeli soldier killed in Gaza on Sunday, making 29 troops killed since combat operations began.

Israeli soldiers have murdered 141 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 43 children; Israeli settlers have killed eight, including one child.

Palestinians have slain two Israelis.
