Trump criticizes Biden’s “Gestapo administration” in a new allusion to Nazi Germany

In a private speech to contributors, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump lambasted Democratic opponent Joe Biden for leading a “Gestapo administration” and criticized the prosecutors who were engaged in his criminal convictions, according to a video obtained by US media sources.

At a donor retreat on Saturday night at his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump, whose own speech has prompted charges of fascist tendencies from civil rights organizations and other opponents, compared himself to the Nazi police in Germany’s World War Two administrations.

Following Trump’s repeated protestations that the many charges against him were politically motivated, the remarks were made. He had recently finished an 11-day hush money trial in New York, where he was accused of fabricating invoices to hide a $130,000 payment to a porn actress.

Trump reportedly said, “These people are running a Gestapo administration,” as heard on an audio tape obtained by the Washington Post and the New York Times. “And it’s their sole possession. They really believe that this is the only way they can prevail, even if it means killing them. However, I’m not bothered by it.

A request for comment about the alleged statements was not answered by the Trump campaign.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates made an attempt to draw comparisons between Biden’s actions during his time in office and Trump’s most recent remarks. Bates accused the former president of feeding into fascist discourse, “lunching with neo-Nazis and fanning debunked conspiracy theories that have cost brave police officers their lives.”

“President Biden is bringing the American people together around our shared democratic values and the rule of law—an approach that has delivered the biggest violent crime reduction in 50 years,” Bates said.

Trump, who was president from 2017 to 2021, is attempting to win back the presidency on November 5th, but he is confronted with a number of legal issues in both criminal and civil suits. He has denied any misconduct in each instance.

On the campaign trail, Trump has made a number of divisive and bigoted remarks, disparaging opponents and immigrants with deadly images. He has likened immigrants to animals and issued a threat of violence in the event that he loses the 2024 election.

Biden criticized Trump in November, claiming that the term “vermin” mirrored Nazi Germany’s terminology and was used to disparage his political rivals. Additionally, Trump said last year that illegal immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.”

Historians claim that remarks like these are similar to those made by despots who have tried to dehumanize their opponents. The Trump team has repeatedly denied parallels to Benito Mussolini of Italy, Adolf Hitler, and the Nazis.

On Sunday, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs condemned the Nazi analogy.

Chief executive of the public policy organization Amy Spitalnick said, “It’s always wrong, offensive, and despicable to make comparisons like this—even more so when taken alongside the former president’s long history of normalizing antisemitism.”

It’s “especially heinous to use Nazi comparisons in the service of a bigoted, authoritarian agenda,” she said.

According to media accounts, Trump continued to disparage federal and Georgian prosecutors who were investigating him on Saturday night.

Former New York billionaire and reality TV show host Donald Trump called Mexican immigrants drug dealers and rapists when he announced his intention to run for the Republican ticket in the 2016 election. After a deadly event in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, he came under fire for linking counterprotesters with white supremacists and claiming that “both sides” were to blame.

According to Biden, the Charlottesville events that resulted in the death of one lady inspired him to challenge Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
