Weapons and explosives discovered inside the Gaza hospital’s MRI center: Israeli military shares photo “evidence”

The Israel Defense Forces have published photographs purportedly demonstrating a sizable stockpile of arms and ammunition to support their allegations that Hamas was utilizing Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital for its violent operations. According to the IDF, the firearms were kept within the hospital’s MRI center.

Israeli commandos and tanks invaded a portion of Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical institution in Gaza, early on Wednesday morning and conducted room-by-room inspections. In addition to weaponry, the IDF claimed to have discovered intelligence reports and other scriptural evidence during the searches that unequivocally demonstrated that Hamas was used the hospital as its operational headquarters.

Military spokesperson Daniel Hagari informed reporters, “We found weapons, intelligence materials, and military technology and equipment in the hospital.” He said, “We also found an operational headquarters with Hamas-owned communications equipment and Hamas uniforms.”

Images made public by the IDF show weapons and grenades discovered inside the MRI facility of Shifa Hospital during the raid by the elite Shaldag unit and other 36th Division personnel.

The US earlier on Tuesday acknowledged that Hamas and Islamic Jihad utilize tunnels under Shifa and other Gaza hospitals “to conceal and to support their military operations and to hold hostages,” despite Hamas’ denial of Israel’s assertion.

Medical experts and interpreters are among the IDF teams who have entered the facility. The IDF released a video showing its soldiers providing the hospital with medical supplies, incubators, and baby food during the operation.

In the meanwhile, the Israeli military said that it had discovered a chamber under Gaza’s Rantisi Hospital, where Israeli captives are thought to have been kept after being abducted during the deadly October 7 raid.

IDF soldiers discovered a chamber in Gaza below the Rantisi Hospital where it is thought that Israeli captives were being kept. The IDF added that a calendar with the name of Hamas’ deadly assault on Israel, “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” was discovered in the room and listed the days from the October 7 Massacre.
