A variety of antique gems

Old vehicles have a timeless appeal that makes them resistant to the effects of time. They inspire adoration and nostalgia in many people, and they have a particular place in their hearts. The Park Hyderabad recently had an amazing classic vehicle display in association with the Classique Motor Vehicle Association (CMVA).

More than fifty vintage cars and motorbikes were on display during the event, capturing the interest of both aficionados and casual onlookers. After the show, guests were treated to a decadent brunch at the hotel’s all-day dining establishment, Verandah.

We got the chance to talk with Shashidhar Batchu, the President of CMVA, among the many antique treasures, and he gave us some history on the first vintage car event. Batchu emphasized the commitment made by CMVA from its founding in 1985 to the preservation of classic automobiles and motorcycles.

In his reflections on India’s rich automotive history, he emphasized Hyderabad’s distinguished past, when legendary cars were built for the aristocracy of the area. Notably, Batchu related tales of the Nizam’s lavish collection of vehicles, which included fifty-two Rolls Royce models, the worth of one of which exceeded that of the Queen of England. Despite this history, Batchu bemoaned the disregard for the Indian automobile sector, highlighting the significance of events such as the vintage vehicle exhibition in rekindling interest and consciousness.

Speaking about the difficulties collectors encounter, Batchu emphasized the need of coordinated lobbying to solve problems like import regulations and the shortage of replacement parts. He promoted group action by enthusiasts and groups to interact with the government and look for policies that would benefit the community of antique cars.

Encouraged by the positive feedback from participants, Batchu shared future intentions to make the classic automobile display a yearly occasion. He expressed his vision for future partnerships and growth, highlighting the timeless attraction of classic cars in Hyderabad.

Moving on to the culinary offerings of the occasion, attendees were enthralled by the spectacular breakfast that Executive Chef Satya Pandari had created, which paid tribute to classic cars. Every meal, from starters to desserts, was expertly created to capture the essence of vintage vehicles, elevating the Verandah experience as a whole.

Famous automobiles from the event, such the 1926 Austin 7, the 1959 Dodge Custom Royal, the 1932 Ford Model A Roadster, and others, added to the atmosphere with their classic beauty.

To sum up, the combination of classic vehicles and motorbikes with an exquisite brunch consisting of more than 150 dishes made sure that every guest had an unforgettable time while honoring the timeless appeal of vintage cars in Hyderabad.
