At the convocation of IIM Amritsar, 320 people received degrees

Around 320 students received degrees during the ninth convocation event held by the Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar (IIM Amritsar). This event honored the ninth MBA batch’s academic accomplishment as well as the second cohorts of the institute’s ground-breaking MBA-BA, MBA-HR, and EMBA programs.

This past Saturday night, the IIM Amritsar commemorated the event. At the institute’s convocation event, more than 320 alumni received their degrees.

The director of IIM Amritsar, Prof. Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, praised the students’ accomplishments in his speech, pointing out their remarkable haul of over 52 trophies from national contests. He announced the establishment of a new MSc in Data Science and Management program, which is being taught in conjunction with IIT Ropar, and the institute’s partnership with Kedge Business School. He conveyed his sincere appreciation to the professors for their commitment and accomplishments. He praised IIM Amritsar for its employment performance in spite of the economic downturn, citing three overseas jobs with the maximum annual compensation of an impressive Rs 58.5 lakh.

Prominent attendees during the occasion were main guest Banwarilal Purohit, the governor of Punjab and administrator of UT, Chandigarh; chairperson of the Board of Governors, IIM Amritsar, Sanjay Gupta; and professors and staff members of IIM Amritsar.

Earlier, Governor Banwarilal Purohit was cordially welcomed to the function. Congratulating the graduating students, Sanjay Gupta acknowledged their hard work for reaching this point. But he made it clear that this is just the start. He discussed the difficulties that were ahead, such as establishing families, employment, and negotiating the complexity of life.

The students were given their medals by Banwarilal Purohit. Among them was Kriti Gupta, who won the gold medal for her exceptional overall performance in the MBA batch, and Harshdeep Singh Sandhanwalia, who received the medal for having the best academic standing among his MBA classmates. Gold medals were given to Mehul Srivastava, Keshav Agarwal, and Chetan Malhotra for their outstanding academic achievements in the MBA-BA, MBA-HR, and EMBA classes, respectively.
