Char Dham Yatra 2024: Temples at Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Open to Devotees Today; Click Here for Detailed Information

The Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath temples opened today at 6:55 AM, marking the start of the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. The Badrinath temple will open on May 12th, unlike in past years. The pilgrimage sites continue to have chilly temperatures, with daytime highs of 0 to 3 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows of below freezing.

About 10,000 pilgrims have already made it to Gaurikund, 16 kilometers before Kedarnath Dham, despite the difficult circumstances. For the last two days, all of Gaurikund’s accommodations have been reserved.

Limited Numbers of Pilgrims Expected in 2024

The Uttarakhand Police and Tourism Department have imposed a daily cap on the number of pilgrims that may attend the Chardham Yatra this year, in response to the pilgrimage’s record-breaking 55 lakh participants in 2023. At Kedarnath Dham, a maximum of 15,000 pilgrims would be permitted each day. The daily capacity of Badrinath Dham will be 16,000 pilgrims. Every day, Yamunotri will host nine thousand pilgrims.Gangotri will welcome 11,000 tourists each day.

Improved Healthcare Facilities

Along the Chardham Yatra path, for the first time, there are over 400 physicians, including 256 emergency medical personnel and experts. It is recommended by the Uttarakhand Health Department that pilgrims give themselves at least seven days to accommodate their body acclimating to the temperature swings.

Enhanced Interaction

Along the Kedarnath pathway, pilgrims will now have access to 4G and 5G networks. In order to deliver this increased connection, four additional towers have been built, resolving last year’s connectivity problems. The shrine will also have easy access to Wi-Fi.

Restricted Reservations for Pooja Online

Only until June 30th is it possible to arrange pujas online for the sanctuaries of Badrinath and Kedarnath. The price of the Mahaabhishek puja is Rs 12,000, while the Shrimad Bhagwat Path is Rs 51,000.
