HP Board 10th Result 2024 Announced: Pass Percentage Drops; Girls Secure Top Ranks
Today, May 7, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, or HPBOSE, released the results of the class 10 or matric test for the year 2024. Students may visit hpbose.org, the official website, to see their scorecards. Seventy-four percent of pupils passed the test. Compared to previous year, when 89.7% of the students passed the test, this is a significant drop.
This time, 91622 students enrolled for the tests, of whom 91130 showed up. In the HP board 10th test, 67988 pupils passed, 12613 failed, and 10474 were placed in the compartment category. There were 492 absentee test takers. A total of 91,440 students attempted the Himachal Pradesh 10th board exam in 2023, with 81,732 passing.

The pass rate dropped below 80% this year after almost reaching 90% the year before.

The 10th annual exams were administered by the HP Board from March 2–21, 2024. Students must get at least 33% of the possible points in each topic and overall to pass the HP Board 10th test. This implies that they must get a D or below.

This year, 92 students—72 of them female students—have earned spots in the top 10. With a score of 99.86%, Riddhima Sharma, a student from a government school in Nadaun, Hamirpur, has taken first place. With 99.71%, Krutika Sharma took second place; Shivam Sharma followed in third place with 99.57%; Drishti Tegta took fourth place with 99.57%; and Rushil Sood took fifth place with 99.57%.
Students who do not pass the Himachal Board 10th exams in one or two courses will get another opportunity to pass. In July 2024, HP Board will administer a compartment test to these pupils. Students must submit an application on the official website for the same. The board will shortly make its timetable public as well.
