Miss World 2024: Archana Kochhar, the official pageant designer, will concentrate on “Indian Tribal and Regional” Art

Almost thirty years after its last hosting, India will hold the Miss World pageant this year. Since 1996, the contest has not taken place in India. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was initially slated to host the 71st Miss World pageant. The 71st Miss World pageant has named Indian designer Archana Kochhar the “Official Fashion Designer,” recognizing her for her inventive designs that have made a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her artistic expression will be shown via “Indian tribal and regional arts.”

The designer made the announcement on her Instagram account, complete with images and a video featuring Karolina Bielawska, the current Miss World. “The 71st Miss World Competition is happening in our incredible country, India, after 28 years & we, Archana Kochhar, have been selected as the official fashion designers for this mega event!” Archana stated, sharing the happy news. We are thrilled to be working with such an esteemed platform, and I am grateful to Julia Morley for providing me with this chance! Watch for our newest collection, which is lovingly woven by Indian craftsmen, on March 9th!

Karolina Bielawska is spotted sporting a stunning lehenga with white sequins. The ensemble combined classical motifs with a pleated skirt and a strappy sweetheart-neckline shirt. The clothing was adorned with elaborate embroidery and mirror work for flair. The vibrant yellow dupatta, adorned with borders of silver sequins, provided a punch of color. She encircled her waist with a similar belt. “I have been watching Miss World since my childhood and it’s absolutely legendary,” the designer said to ANI. I’m grateful to Julia Morley for providing me with this wonderful chance.

The current Miss World, who served as the model for the exquisite clothing created by Archana Kochhar, told the portal that she felt as like she was wearing her Indian heritage because of the exquisite workmanship, vibrant colors, and intricate embroidered details on the ensemble. “I felt like a true Indian princess for a day,” the woman said.

The famous pageant’s big finale, scheduled for March 9 at Mumbai’s Jio Convention Centre, is being designed by Archana Kochhar. Every competitor will be dressed in her couture. In addition, the designer wants to promote “Made in India” internationally.
